I've never written a single comment for any movie, but this one I feel responsible to warn people DO NOT waste your 90 minutes of life like I just did. None of the castings is connected to their characters. But that doesn't seem to be a problem since the storyline doesn't make any sense. everything looks so cheap in this movie except for the cameras.

Becky is a film about a precocious young girl, Becky (Lulu Wilson) who is grieving the death of her mother due to an illness, while her father (played by Joel McHale) tries to help her recover from the loss. He has moved on and is in an inter-racial relationship with a woman of whom Becky isn't so fond. Her father takes her to a lakeside vacation home for the weekend during the same day that a gang of neo-nazis, led by Kevin James, escape from prison. Things take a turn for the worst when the two groups cross paths.

The film stars out very slow but pays off big time with raw and unflinching brutality. There are several scenes in this film that will make you cringe in disgust while the camera stays locked on and never cuts away from the violence. Needless to say, it is not for the faint of heart. As violent as the film is, it is also tragic and heart-breaking as we watch Becky's descent from the early stages of childhood grief into madness. The film pulls no punches in breaking down and destroying this little girl, only to rebuild her into something far more devastating and unrecognizable.

Kevin James, as Dominick, is entirely foreign to me in this film. I am so used to seeing him play the lovable fat guy in a slew of comedies, that when I saw him in this film with a big beard and a body covered in white supremacist tattoos, it was more than a little disturbing. Though, he did a tremendous job of projecting an aura of danger and evil. This is a guy you never want to come across. However, I also felt at times that his role as as the penultimate bad guy was endangered by the presence of his lead henchman, Apex, played by Robert Maillet. Apex is a gigantic wall of muscle with a very scary demeanor. He's the type of guy who could scare you to death with just a stare, while Dominick plays psychological mind games to get what he wants.

Lulu Wilson, who I've only seen in Annabelle: Creation, is a really talented young actress. Her behavior and mannerisms are believable and she really took control of her scenes.

Becky is a very disturbing stylish brutal indie thriller/horror film that left a lasting impression me, and one that I wasn't entirely comfortable with. Becky demonstrates how far she would go, when there's nothing left to lose, and in doing so becomes something else more fitting for this world. I didn't feel good about this story, but I think that was the intention. I enjoyed it, I just didn't feel good about it.

Sorry but this film was trash, i could have been really good if we got some serious back stories from the villains.a nice bit of build up but what we got is a gore version of home alone in the woods where the little kid out whits hardened criminals but this time with blood and guns. br> if they have elaborated on the story of the key more it would have been nice but i figured it was just used in the story to keep you watching to the end they were never going to reveal anything about it.
kevin james plays a pretty good bad guy, he should really do it more. i really didn't care much for the other characters. the dad was gutless the women and kid brought nothing to the film the bad guys were idiots, and the girl was just irritating trying way too hard to look psychotic and the plot was way too predictable. if you took out the gore you could put this film on the disney channel it was that bad. a complete waste of time.
